Tricia Bruce, a sociologist at the University of Texas - San Antonio and affiliated with Notre Dame's Center for the Study of Religion and Society, researched across America, listening for what people really believe. Her results are in “What Americans Really Think about Abortion."
Emily Reimer-Barry, chair of the Theology and Religious Studies Dept at the University of San Diego, teaches the intersection of public health and Catholic social teaching. She focuses on reproductive justice and Catholic ethics, especially questions of respecting both fetal life and maternal life, and the disproportionate impact on poor and BIPOC women. She has also called for an authentic pro-life message that includes robust structural supports, largely absent from anti-abortion efforts in the past fifty years.
