Dr. Humphrey will share her work with Pittsburgh Black Collective, a group of local African American leaders who are committed to improving local conditions that undermine the poor: affordable housing, closing the wealth gap, equity in education, improved healthcare, and diminished violence. She will describe the lens through which the Collective views the problems and ways to make real progress in overcoming them. She will also invite APP accompaniment and support as allies in these efforts by memberships, financial support, and political action.

Dr. Humphrey serves as the 11th president of Carlow University. With more than 35 years in higher education including the University of Pittsburgh, she is revered as a transformative and effective pioneering leader. She strives to give students the best collegiate experience that includes faculty and staff development, experiential learning, and forward-thinking research. She envisions Carlow as a Uuniversity that can masterfully adapt to the everchanging needs of students, faculty, and staff. Dr. Humphrey also serves on many local Boards of Directors.
