Fr. John Dear is making a 50-city tour promoting his latest book, The Gospel of Peace A Commentary on Matthew, Mark, and Luke From The Perspective of Nonviolence. Throughout John Dear’s life the Gospels have been his North Star showing him how to follow the nonviolent Jesus. It is his hope that by connecting with him and reading his book we too may grow in our commitment to nonviolence.

John Dear is an internationally known voice for peace and nonviolence. He is a priest, activist, and author. He previously was director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, on staff of Pace e’ Bene, is a supporter of Pax Christi, and presently the director of The Beatitudes Center for the Nonviolent Jesus. He has been nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“The life of ‘peace’ is both an inner journey toward a disarmed heart and a public journey toward a disarmed world. This difficult but beautiful journey gives infinite meaning and fulfillment to life itself because our lives become a gift for the whole human race. With peace as the beginning, middle, and end of life, life makes sense.”
