In the Fall of 2023, TG4, an Irish TV channel, made a documentary concerning the journey of our friend, previous APP theme speaker, and Redemptorist priest (suspended), Tony Flannery.  As many remember, Tony was suspended by the Vatican and his religious community for writings and lectures he has given over the years, challenging certain church teachings, e.g., married priesthood, women's ordination, same gender marriage, etc. Tony has never really received a full explanation or hearing around this silencing, and only more recently has he gotten a fuller explanation of how his suspension was handled. Despite his situation, as one of the founders of the progressive, APP-like Catholic Priest organization in Ireland, he is still an active member of the group.
